چکیده

In this work, we applied a Bayesian time-lapse (4D) seismic inversion to deep-water heavy oil field located in the Campos Basin (Brazil). procedure, differences of amplitudes baseline and repeated surveys are input calculate changes acoustic impedances. To ensure quality results, parametrization was performed by analyzing anomalies resolution signal-to-noise ratio with different values parameters, estimates crosschecked results petroelastic modeling dynamic model. Results show relevant improvement vertical estimated impedances comparison amplitude data thin reservoir (with thickness ranging from 15 45 m). Comparing Geostatistical Seismic Inversion Based on Spectral Simulation with Deterministic Inversion: A Case Study

Seismic inversion is a method that extracts acoustic impedance data from the seismic traces. Source wavelets are band-limited, and thus seismic traces do not contain low and high frequency information. Therefore, there is a serious problem when the deterministic seismic inversion is applied to real data and the result of deterministic inversion is smooth. Low frequency component is obtained fro...

Subsurface Imaging with Reverse Vertical Seismic Profiles

A novel imaging process, referred to as vector image isochron (VII) migration, is specifically designed to reduce artifacts caused by arrays with limited apertures. By examining the assumptions behind generalized Radon transform (GRT) migration, a new approach is found which identifies and suppresses array artifacts, based on the array geometry and the migration earth model. The new method work...

Facies Classifications for Seismic Inversion

Identifying facies for classification for a seismic inversion project is an important step where one balances computational effort and the quality of the results. We propose a new measure to quantify the suitability of a given facies partition based on information theory. The results depend on a user-selected cutoff, and we propose a reasonable value for this constant. We also show the analysis...

Geologic Constraints on Seismic Inversion

Velocity model estimation from seismic data using prestack depth migration is an un-derdetermined problem: there are many subtly diierent models which are not kinematically equivalent. As these models can give rise to dramatically diierent interpretations and decisions there is a clear need for a selection criterion in order to choose the "best" (i.e. geologically most plausible) one. Interpret...

High-resolution lithospheric imaging with seismic interferometry

In recent years, there has been an increase in the deployment of relatively dense arrays of seismic stations. The availability of spatially densely sampled global and regional seismic data has stimulated the adoption of industry-style imaging algorithms applied to convertedand scattered-wave energy from distant earthquakes, leading to relatively high-resolution images of the lower crust and upp...
